Getting here & getting around.

By road

The SH8 coastal road connects Himarë with Vlorë, Dhërmi, Borsh and Sarandë. Travel times vary greatly with summer traffic, so allow extra time.

Airports & ferry

Tirana is the main airport connection. Corfu can also work seasonally via ferry to Sarandë; schedules and crossing times depend on the operator.

Regional transport

Buses and shared minibuses serve the coastal route, but departure times can be informal. Confirm locally, especially outside summer.

Renting a car

A car is useful for smaller villages and coves, but parking is limited in popular places during July and August.

When to visit

June and September balance warm sea with lighter crowds. July and August are busiest; May and October are quieter with more variable weather.

Coast conditions

Beach access, parking and boat services can change seasonally. Check locally before setting out for remote coves or walking routes.
